At the heart of The Old Peacock is Real Ale, a unique, traditional product and Britain's National Drink. Where as most beer is pasteurised and/or filtered for longer shelf life, Real/Cask Ale/Beer is fresh beer with live yeast in the cask. Its undergone a slow, secondary fermentation that keeps it in peak condition. Ensuring depth of flavour and a natural carbonation (Pete Brown 2010).

We serve 4 of Ossett Brewery’s finest award winning ales which include Silver King, Yorkshire Blonde, Excelsior and our own 1919 Bitter. In addition to this we have 4 guest ales on a rotational basis. Ossett beers have won several national awards, including Supreme Champion Beer of Britain (SIBA awards) for its strong ale, Excelsior.

We are very proud of the quality we achieve with all our beers and welcome you to step inside and sample the large range of both Ossett and guest beers available on the bar. The Old Peacock is tested and measured by Cask Marque to check quality throughout all our ale selection.
